Activities
Uddeholm is situated in the municipality of Hagfors known for its superb nature. The area offers everything the nature lover is looking for: beautiful lakes, incredible vistas and a rich flora and fauna. In perfect peace one of Sweden's largest rivers, the Klarälven, meanders through this landscape. In addition, the area has a rich history. Uddeholm has a continental climate, meaning hot dry summers and real winters.
The perfect way to explore all of this is to drive our History of Nature tour. These tours lead you away from major roads and let you fall in love with this beautiful surroundings. Or experience an exciting afternoon with the whole family with our family box. Enjoy the overwhelming silences and the beautiful nature with our three days canoe trip, experience camping on your own islands.
Summer
In the summer the possibilities for activities are everywhere. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel are 14 hiking- and 6 cycling routes described. Besides this you can, whether accompanied or not, go on a mountain bike tour, fishing, canoeing, surfing and playing tennis. Enjoy the special experience of a moose-, beaver- or other safari or enjoy a round flight above this spectacular region. Special attraction is playing golf on the 18-hole golf course, just on the other side of the lake or a beautiful trip with a dressin from Uddeholm to Hagfors. The river Klarälven is famous for its rafting, which you can experience on a one or more day trip going downstream.

Winter
The province of Värmland where Uddeholm is situated has a continental climate. This means real winters, most of the time with snow and ice from December to April. Although this region is not absolutely sure of snow because of the low mountains, the lake is covered with thick layer of ice every winter. It is a real paradise for all kinds of ice sports. The village of Ekshärad, just 15 minutes north of the hotel, has a small ski slope. In an hour's drive from Uddeholm you will find the beautiful ski and cross country ski area Hovfjället (Torsby) and the ski slopes of Säfsen (Fredriksberg). Värmlands famous ski resort Branäs, near to Sysslebäck is approximately 1.5 hours drive away.
In the vicinity of Uddeholm, Råda and Hagfors (Ski Center) are different prepared cross country routes, some are illuminated. Or you can simply make your own trail in the new snow. Cross-country skiing equipment can be rented at the hotel, or is part of your holiday package.
Spring - autumn
In spring and autumn there are many things to do. Exciting is the intense change of seasons. In spring the nature comes to life within a few days as if it has to gain the lost time. In only a short time all plants are flowering and you can enjoy an exuberant sea of flowers.
The autumn the birches and maples colors in gold and red. There are mushrooms and berries everywhere and because of the 'allmansrätt' (every mans right) you are allowed to pick as many as you want. The weather is, most of the time, better than in England due to the inland climate: the Norwegian mountains stop most of the rain.
